One of two men charged in a February shooting incident that left a Greencastle man seriously injured, a Fillmore man has entered a guilty plea.g.

On Thursday morning, Skyler H. Pintor, 31, pled guilty to Level 3 felony robbery resulting in bodily injury. By plea agreement, the other three counts — Level 2 felony burglary with a deadly weapon, Level 5 felony criminal recklessness and Level 6 felony auto theft — were dismissed.

Level 3 felonies carry a sentencing range of 3-16 years and an advisory sentence of nine years. However, Chief Deputy Prosecutor Austin Malayer told the Banner Graphic that by the plea agreement, which still leaves some sentencing leeway for Putnam Circuit Court Judge Matt Headley, the sentence is capped at 10 years.

Co-defendant Jon Luke McGuff, 26, Reelsville, pled guilty to Level 2 felony burglary in the case and was sentenced last month to a 20-year sentence. McGuff was also recently convicted of manslaughter in the May 2023 death of William Matherly outside a Brazil residence, which carried with it another 20-year sentence.

In the case at hand, McGuff and Pintor are said to have entered the apartment of Carlie Capps III on Feb. 24 in an apparent attempt to rob him. Capps was shot during a struggle, with the bullet passing from his left clavicle area and eventually out the right side of the neck.

The two men then fled the scene in Capps’ car.

Pintor’s sentencing hearing is set for 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14.
