Sharon Kay St. John, 77, of Bainbridge, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her family.

Born Aug. 30, 1947 in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of Harold and Opal (Martin) Baire. She was a 1965 graduate of Bainbridge High School. She married Phillip St. John on Aug. 7, 1971.

Sharon was a homemaker, artist and member of the Art League, painting and creating several pictures, pottery pieces and taking pottery classes. She had worked at Mallory’s and Montgomery Ward after graduating high school.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother and sister-in-law Ronald “Ronnie” and Kumiko Baire and brother-in-law Larry Rumple.

Sharon is survived by her husband, Phillip St. John; daughters Julia (Mike) Nesbitt, Jennifer (Mark) Hoke and Jodi St. John; sister Marlene Rumple; and grandchildren Caitlin Abdon, Haley Abdon, Grant Hoke, Alex Hoke, Evan Nesbitt and Drew Nesbitt.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Bainbridge Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Monday, Oct. 14 from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
