The Greencastle Arts Council can’t wait for you to gather with them this year for their “La Dolce Vita”-themed annual Bonne Soirée. This celebration of the sweet life in support of local art and artists will take place on Saturday, Nov. 2, from 6–8:30 p.m. at The Inn at DePauw.

Guests can look forward to an evening of Italian food, cool art and live music. As previous Soirées have sold out, attendees are advised to get tickets early.

Music by the jazz combo Katz Pajamas will feature the Greencastle veteran rhythm section of Bill Hamm (bass), Veronica Pejril (keys) and Rick Provine (drums), along with up-and-coming saxophonist Levi Stewart playfully weaving unique arrangements of classic standards and contemporary tunes.

The event also includes display and sale of original works by Putnam County visual artists as well as talented area high school students. Two West Bistro will provide the Italian-style dinner and desserts, and a cash bar will be available.

“There are many opportunities for giving throughout the year, but this is one of the most fun,” Arts Council President Suzanne Hassler said. “There are so many different ways to participate throughout the evening from the great live music, to the silent auctions with unique one-of-a-kind pieces, to some really fun raffle baskets and dozens of door prizes to be given away throughout the night.”

One hundred percent of the proceeds raised through the event go toward supporting the mission of the Arts Council to build local arts capacity, deepen pride of place throughout Putnam County and help fund community programming in the coming year.

Admission to the November event is $50 per person. Full table sponsorships, which seat up to 10 guests, also are available for $500. Tickets can be obtained online by visiting www.greencastleartscouncil.org. For assistance, contact soirée co-chairs Angie Wood (720-7644) and Kathryn Dory (720-3287), or email treasurer Lane Ralph (treasurer@greencastleartscouncil.com).

A frequent community collaborator, the GAC partners regularly with Putnam County Comprehensive Services, 10-Fold Projects Gallery, DePauw University, Main Street Greencastle, Putnam County Mural Project and the Putnam County Museum. Among programs the fundraiser will help support are the annual Putnam County Visual Arts Exhibition, free First Friday family art activities, the IU-Prison Arts Initiative and co-sponsorship of the Putnam County Festival Choir.

The Arts Council thanks Bonne Soirée primary event sponsors Eric Wolfe and the Prime Real Estate Group, the Putnam County Community Foundation, Jedele Enterprises, The Dandelion and Doc’s Inns and appreciates all community contributors helping to create a thriving arts presence in Putnam County.
