GHS golfers fall to Monrovia in opener

The Greencastle girls' golf team opened its season Tuesday at Windy Hill as it hosted Monrovia. The Bulldogs bested the Tiger Cubs, 221-247. Mon-rovia's Julia Porter was Medalist with 46. The Tiger Cubs were led by Dana Norman's 47 "I was pleased with Dana's score, it was a large improvement from where she started last year," said GHS coach Brad Kingma. A Texas man has been charged locally with attempted murder after police say he rammed his truck into a reserve sheriff's deputy's vehicle and then chased the officer's car down the interstate at speeds reaching 100 mph.
